4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

TEACHING MORE THAN THE ABC’S

 

 

Someone posted the following on Facebook yesterday, and I thought it was not only beautiful, but also a great way to teach the children their alphabet.  In fact, it is an alphabet about the Alpha and Omega, so it serves to glorify Christ as well!  I have changed it slightly.

THE HOLY ALPHABET

 

Although things are not perfect

Because of trial or pain

Continue in thanksgiving

Do not begin to blame

Even when the times are hard

Fierce winds are bound to blow

God is forever able

Hold to what you know

Imagine life without His love

Joy would cease to be

Keep thanking Him for all the things

Love imparts to thee

Move out of “camp complaining”

No weapon that is known

On earth can yield the power

Praise can do alone

Quit looking at the future

Redeem the time at hand

Start every day with worship

To “thank” is a command

Until we see Him coming

Victorious in the sky

We’ll run the race with gratitude

Xavier’s God most high

Yes, there’ll be good times and bad, but

Zion waits in glory, where none are ever sad!

 

Train up a child in the way he should go,

and when he is old, he will not depart from it!

The Sermon at I was a witness at born again of 4 souls .I know only family Pat and Jim Lopez ,a family who need a lot of prayer to be discipled,in a group of brothers,or a church.Our felowship is not possible because location and schedules of them.But prayers work!

ALLURING JOY

“You all got an apartment for rent?”

At first I wasn’t sure that’s what he said. He was an old man walking along 18th Street across from our house. It was my turn to kick, so I was the closest to him. Home plate (dirt spot) is next to the back gate by the street, and we were playing kickball after supper. Abraham and I against Karsten and Benjamin. (Barnabas just ambles around the infield talking to himself.)

Abraham was on first and I was up to kick. “You all got an apartment for rent?” That’s what he said, all right.

I turned and called out across the street, “No sir. Sorry.”

Then came the memorable line, “I’d like to live with y’all. You look real happy.”

So I’ve been thinking about that for a few days. I’ve been thinking that there are a lot of unhappy people in the world. There are a lot of lonely people in the world. There are a lot of people who live and work with such unhappy people that they would like to be around some happy people sometimes.

And I have been thinking how Christianity is a religion of joy.

“Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say, rejoice!”
“The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart.”
“Serve the Lord with gladness.”
“You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace.”
“The Lord will rejoice in doing you good.”
“Rejoice, for your names are written in heaven.”
“These things I speak, that your joy might be full.”
“The disciples were filled with joy and the Spirit.”
“Rejoice in hope.”
“The kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy.”
“We rejoice in our sufferings.”
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
“The fruit of the Spirit is joy.”

And it makes me pray that we would be so full of the Holy Spirit at Bethlehem that visitors, full of longing would come in among us and say, “I’d like to live with y’all. You look real happy.”
