Aud un glas de înger
Străfulgerând pământul
Încă puțină vreme și Domnul va veni.
Sufletul mi l-am privit îngrozit
Întrebându-mă:
” În ce veșmânt pe Domnul voi primi ? …”

Strigând
Am prins s-alerg pe drumurile lumii:
” Dați-mi o haină !”

Și meșterii omenirii
Ieșiră la porți cu haine mulțime,
Dar fiecare veșmânt ce mi se-ntinde
E-o falsă splendoare
Ce-ascunde o zdreanță.

Și îngerul vestind venirea lui Iisus
L-aud tot mai aproape
Doar câțiva pași mai are Domnul
Pan’ la mine.
Zăresc printre lacrimi de nevrednicie
Minunea zilei Lui de lumină,
Iar haina ce-o port
E încă din ce în ce mai murdară :
” Dati-mi o haină !

Să m-ascund în suflet
Și să mi-o țes acolo,
Dar sufletul îmi e pustiu
Și-o haină cu care să- L întâmpin
Pe Domnul
Încă nu am, încă nu știu …
Prietenii-au fugit
Vrăjmașii râd de mine,
Dar tot mai strig și tot mai plâng
Și tot mai sper.”

Când … iată îngerul,
Același înger îmi arată
O cale către Cruce și-mi zice:
” Este acolo un veșmânt,

Veșmântul lui Iisus
Ce n-a fost rupt
Ostașul roman îngrozit a fugit
Și a lăsat acolo veșmântul Lui
Întreg
Căzut la sorți .”
Ostașul roman …
Dar cine-i ostașul roman ? …
Nu-s oare eu ? …

Și-alerg sângerând
Cum trebuia s-alerg la răstignirea Lui
Și iată-mă ajuns lângă Cruce,
Dar e veșmântul Lui,
Al Celui ce vine,
E cel de care eu L-am dezbrăcat
Iisus mi l-a lăsat aici la Cruce
Și l-a luat pe-al meu,
E prea nemeritat
Și iată Crucea mă privește …
Și dacă nu … unde să plec …
Și unde să m-ascund ? …

Dar îngerul im3i spune iar:
” Orice veșmânt pătat
Este spălat în sângele lui Iisus
Pe Cruce vărsat .”
În sângele Celui ce vine
Și dezbrăcându-mi haina cea murdară
M-a îmbrăcat cu haina jertfei Sale
Și lângă Cruce stau
Și plâng de bucurie
Și îngerul l-aud din nou
Strigând în cele patru zări :
“Încă puțină vreme
Și Domnul va să vie !”

Iar eu
În genunchi mă ridic
Spre lacrima lumii
Strigând bucuria salvării :
” Dacă mai este cineva ce caută o haină
Pentru marea întâlnire cu Domnul
Ce vine …
Să urce la Cruce ,
Aici veșmântul jertfei Sale
Așteaptă pe oricine.”
